The Best of Panama 2026 auction drew nearly 25,000 bids and more than US$3 million in total sales.
The top lot was Elida Geisha Torre from Lamastus Family Estates, scored at 96.25 points. Its 15 kg lot sold for US$270,060, or US$18,004 per kilo. That is below last year's record of US$30,204 per kilo, but still one of the highest coffee prices anywhere.
Finca Lérida's Gesha Natural (95.63 points) sold for US$13,505 per kilo, and Hacienda La Esmeralda's Laurina (93.63 points) led the Varietals category at US$4,216 per kilo.
Auction prices show how much value careful growing, processing and scoring can add. Quality, not just volume, builds an origin's reputation.
