DFI takes full control of 1,100 Starbucks stores in Asiaএশিয়ার ১,১০০ Starbucks store এখন পুরোপুরি DFI-এর হাতে
The Hong Kong group now runs Starbucks in seven markets, from Singapore to Laos.
Hong Kong's DFI Retail Group has taken full control of about 1,100 Starbucks stores in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, after joint venture partner Maxim's Group exited. As part of the deal, DFI gives up its 50 percent stake in Maxim's and receives about US$340 million in cash.
It is the latest change in how Starbucks runs Asia. In April 2026, Starbucks sold a US$4 billion majority stake in its 8,000-store China business to Boyu Capital.
Global coffee brands increasingly enter new countries through regional operators. That is likely how big international chains would approach Bangladesh too.
