Nespresso is discontinuing its home compostable paper capsules, about three and a half years after launching them across 14 European markets.
The main problem was shelf life. Once opened, the paper-based capsules had to be used within about four weeks, compared with up to a year for aluminium. Nespresso is now putting its focus back on recycling aluminium capsules, and says it has more than 100,000 dedicated and partner collection points worldwide.
Sustainable packaging has to survive real conditions. In Bangladesh's heat and humidity, freshness and storage should be tested before any eco-packaging switch.

Eco-packaging বাস্তব পরিবেশে টিকতে হবে। বাংলাদেশের গরম আর আর্দ্রতায় packaging বদলানোর আগে freshness আর storage ভালোভাবে পরীক্ষা করে নেওয়া জরুরি।
